And now it's gone. But I can't complain I guess. Some rocker in LA (with excellent taste) purchased it, while I was secretly hoping to carry it one more time. Tina of Sparkle Craft actually made the purse. I just embroidered it. It says "Sin Within: All the Ways to Spend Your Life". Don't ask me what it means. There's feather stitching and french knots along the strap, and some gold glittery thread. It's real perty. Lovely working with you Teeners. Let's do it again soon, okay? Ah well. It's out there having adventures of its own...sniff!...gasp...GUH-BYE COOL BAG! *thank...
NEW KIT! My blog entries aren't all going to be about products, I promise. But! I thought I'd introduce the new little kit. If yer on a budget, or jest looking for a cute and crafty gift. Te voilà! You asked for it, and now here it is.
Are you ready? I love the Ladyfests that crop up all over the country. The Columbus ladies asked me to stitch up their logo a while back, so I've done my part! You? Find a Ladyfest near you.
Tonia Smith contacted me several months ago about her pincushions. What she didn't know was that I continuously hunt for weird, super-neato pincushions. Man, are they hard to find. So I went nuts with delight when she showed me her designs. Dirty Designs that is. Hailing from Canada, Tonia has studied jewelry making, tattooing and now has returned to her love of sewing. Lucky for us. There's also a Voodoo Doll Pincushion that I'll put up soon. Get one here!
Do you read Juxtapoz Magazine? True, it's not for everyone, but I'm thrilled to see that it's flourished these last 10 years. After seeing the first copy in 1994, I've pored over every issue since. No other magazine has inspired so much ire, joy and confusion in me. And I was sneaking my brother's re-issued Zaps at thirteen, so imagine what it can do for you. Rage on, Juxtapoz. 10th Anniversary Party April 1-30th Minna Gallery, San Francisco.
