This event was so special. The L.A. heatwave had broken, and there was a relaxing breeze blowing through the enormous windows at the Neutra VDL Research House.
I specifically structured the class so by the third hour, there was less instruction, more quiet stitching, and you were free to wander around the house and find a spot all to yourself...
This was the spot I was dying to sneak off to with my own project: the rooftop sunroom overlooking the patio and the Silverlake Reservoir.
What was this event? It was Embroidering Neutra VDL. Many thanks to Machine Project for producing this event, and very special thanks to the Neutra VDL Research House for letting us occupy such a special home and enjoy embroidering there.
Will there be more events like this? Occupy fantastic architecture and stitch in it? I think there just might be!

By the way, if you were a follower of my blog Embroidery As Art, I have decided that I will continue those posts here. Work by other fine artists, special events and embroidery of particular interest will be tagged and titled #embroideryasart.
