Two awesome DIY sites have mated and produced one beautiful love-child.

Etsy and Instructables have partnered to launch the 'Sew Useful' contest. Etsy is a marketplace for independent artists / crafty types, and Instructables is a web community of makers who share their personal how-to's - so the entries are going to be really interesting. Crafty projects that "make life easier for humans."

They're working with One Laptop per Child. All fees from participating listings are donated to OLPC as well as $1 per entry.

The deadline is one week away! Any ideas???
