Ever wonder if there exists an alternate world where craft designers convene in a sort of crafty summit, far away from the public eye? Well, we do (kind of) at trade shows. I just got back from CHA's (Craft and Hobby Association) trade show in Chicago this weekend where I was invited to speak on the topic of contemporary needlework. And, look who I just happened to run into: (l to r) my good friend Jennifer Perkins of DIY's Craft Lab, Naughty Secretary Club and the Austin Craft Mafia, Ed Roth of Stencil One, Kathy Cano-Murillo of Crafty Chica, yours truly, and Hope Perkins of Hot Pink Pistol and the Austin Craft Mafia. Kathy was there to debut her new line of Crafty Chica products (in stores soon), and Jennifer and Hope both endorse glue and glitter for Duncan Crafts. We've come a long way, crafty babies!
