Project Twist!

Doe-c-doe took a turn with one of the projects in my new book (the jeans with swallows under the front pockets on p. something), and I simply love what she did. We all know that transferring a pattern onto dark fabrics can be a wee bit problematic. One of the ways around it is to transfer the design onto stabilizer, and put the stabilizer on the front as you stitch (you'll remove it when you're through), simply providing a light ground for the pattern. But, I really, really like that she transferred the pattern to some prettily patterned fabric, stitched that, and then applied them as appliqués. I wish I'd thought of that! But, that's what the book is all about...seeing what it makes you think of doing. Link
