Wonderful. Animals with salvaged needlepoint hides by Frédérique Morrel. Some of her work is currently on display in the windows at Bergdorf Goodman in NYC. Also making creative re-use of the abundance of needlepoint is Lindsten Form Studio:

And here's where this question always comes up:
Is this embroidery, needlepoint or tapestry?
Embroidery? Yes (needlepoint is a type of embroidery). Tapestry? Technically, no. Although needlepoint is commonly, popularly referred to as "tapestry", it really isn't tapestry, which is a woven fabric that doesn't have a ground to work on. Needlepoint is worked on a canvas, tapestry is woven on a loom.
But, it would be rude to correct someone at a party over this trifle, so just smile politely and keep it to yourself.
